The acute shortage of skilled labour, the increasing demands in care and the growing number of people in need of care urgently require innovative approaches and a future-oriented reorientation of the entire care sector.

Against this background, Deutsche Messe has launched the new care trade fair Pro Care. It will be held for the first time at the exhibition centre in Hanover from 11 to 12 February 2025, but has already received broad political support.

The German Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Health of Lower Saxony have taken over the patronage of the new care trade fair.

‘The care of the future is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and one that concerns us all. We live in an ageing society in which more and more people will be dependent on help. In order to ensure nursing care in the future, we need motivated carers, technical innovation and secure funding. Pro Care shows that care is not only a challenge, but also an exciting profession. I was therefore delighted to take on the patronage,’ said Federal Minister of Health Prof Karl Lauterbach.

Heike Grosch, Project Manager of Pro Care, is delighted: ‘The high-calibre political support is a great signal for Pro Care. We are thus creating even more social visibility for the important topic of care.’

In addition to high-ranking political representatives, numerous experts from all areas of care are expected to attend Pro Care. On the large main stage and in the accompanying congress, they will present solutions for the care sector in order to promote sustainable care. A central theme of the trade fair is also the appreciation of nursing staff, whose commitment and dedication often take place under difficult conditions.

The trade fair covers a wide range of topics: care & hygiene, careers & education, digital management & technology, cuisine & nutrition, space & design and therapy & activation. Pro Care is aimed in particular at trade visitors from the fields of hospital and care home management, nursing, administration, housekeeping, care, therapy, training and studies.

Some 120 exhibitors and around 5,000 visitors are expected to come to Hanover to find out about and exchange information on the latest developments, products and services in the care sector.
