smoothfood covers all levels of dysphagia from level 1 (severe dysphagia with a high risk of aspiration: oral feeding impossible), with the help of so-called basal stimulation using airy foams, to level 4 (normal food intake possible, beverage thickening may be necessary).
Dysphagia is becoming an increasingly important issue in an ageing society, which is reflected in the global initiative for the standardisation of dysphagia food (IDDSI, www.iddsi.org). With smoothfood, it is already possible today to reproduce all the consistency levels envisaged there at a high nutritional-physiological level.
