Hanover, April 4, 2024 - The care sector has been struggling with structural problems for years and is facing fundamental challenges due to the care crisis and demographic change. The Federal Statistical Office currently counts more than 5 million people in need of care in Germany alone. This number is constantly increasing, and with it the need for technological innovations and intensive exchange within the industry. Against this background, Deutsche Messe AG has developed a new trade fair format: Pro Care will celebrate its premiere on February 11 and 12, 2025 at the exhibition grounds in Hanover. The motto of the trade fair is: So that care has a future.

Pro Care covers all areas of care, including inpatient, intensive, outpatient and home care. Project Manager Heike Grosch: "The trade fair concept takes into account all backgrounds of care needs, regardless of whether they are age-related, illness-related or caused by a disability."

The trade fair addresses all players in the care sector. This includes decision-makers as well as people who work directly with people in need of care. The trade fair takes place in Hall 7, where exhibitors can present their products and services. The accompanying conference is planned for the Convention Center. At the trade fair, the care sector will be offered a comprehensive supporting program that highlights the importance of its work and addresses the most pressing challenges facing the industry. The effective networking formats are deliberately aimed at everyone working in the care sector, not just managers.

In addition to product innovations, the trade fair will focus on digitalization in the care sector, the omnipresent shortage of skilled workers and occupational health management.

With Pro Care, Deutsche Messe also wants to build a bridge between the German market and the players in the care industry in neighboring countries. Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Messe, underlines the importance of this step for the industry: "The care industry is facing numerous challenges, but there are also opportunities that can only be effectively exploited through cross-border dialogue and cooperation. With Pro Care, we will promote this international exchange and offer platforms that broaden the view beyond the national horizon."

Deutsche Messe is not breaking new ground in the care sector. Together with the Hanover-based media company Vincentz Network, it has already successfully organized ALTENPFLEGE in Hanover, Nuremberg and Essen for over 30 years.

With the introduction of Pro Care, Deutsche Messe is building on its many years of experience and expertise in the organization of trade fairs and setting a new milestone in the support and development of the care industry. In doing so, Deutsche Messe aims to lay a foundation for innovation, exchange and recognition within this important industry.
