The BionicBack is a passive exoskeleton designed to reduce the strain on the back during lifting and carrying. By supporting the natural movements of the back and relieving strain on the lumbar spine during daily work activities, the BionicBack helps to improve the health and well-being of users. It stabilizes critical lifting and bending movements, prevents incorrect posture and, at 1,180 g, is lighter than a water bottle. The BionicBack enables comfortable and back-friendly work without compromises thanks to improved ergonomics, as well as stability and safety for caregivers and recipients. It is quick to put on, can be adjusted in next to no time and can be integrated into existing work processes.
The bionic back structure transfers stress from the back muscles to the surrounding structures and protects against overloading and incorrect loading through the support system. The BionicBack can relieve strain on the back by up to 30% thanks to two infinitely variable support modes. In addition, signs of fatigue can be reduced by up to 86% and the curvature of the back reduced by up to 37%.
Patient handles ensure a safe and comfortable transfer and help to avoid the often problematic “neck grip”. It is easy to clean, can be disinfected and is always hygienic thanks to replaceable and washable pads.
